Laser printers do not use ink to print, and they use printer toner. After that, the printer toner is rolled onto a drum, warmed. And put it on the paper where it defrosts to produce your data. If the layer is slick sufficient, the printer toner merely will not stick successfully to the protected inkjet paper. As a result, the ink will sink a lot in the paper, and it may "plume" or broaden, making the picture appear blurry.
